Renault Working On A 1.0-litre AMT Option For Kwid For 2016
French automobile manufacturer had recently showcased its small car for developing markets. Renault globally debuted this product in India and christened it as the Kwid.
It is their first compact hatchback vehicle, which will go on sale in India within this year. Renault has also confirmed that post launch they will keep introducing variants of Kwid to keep it fresh.

Renault has taken into consideration that more Indian automobile buyers are leaning towards AMT options. Now post Kwid launch in India the manufacturer will be introducing a 1.0-litre AMT variant.

During launch Renault Kwid is expected to receive a 800cc with manual transmission. This model is expected to bear a price tag of INR 3,00,000 for base trim and will carry forward.
Kwid looks way better than its competitors in the Indian market. Renault India will pit it against the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 compact hatchback and the AMT option will provide a level playing field.

Renault is in alliance with Nissan and development of a 1.0-litre engine with AMT will be overseen by both parties. It will be used by both manufacturers in their vehicles, however, no specifics are available at this moment.
