Renault Kayou Teased Prior To Global Debut In India On 20th May

Renault recently launched its Lodgy MPV in India, which marked the beginning of a new era for the manufacturer. They now plan to enter new segments in India with all-new products.

The French manufacturer will be launching its first small car in India, which has been given codename XBA. It is most likely going to be called ‘Kayou' by Renault all across the globe.

Kayou by Renault is a global product and they will debut it here in India on 20th May, 2015. They have also began their online promotion activity and we have a video teasing us with the unveiling date.

This all-new small car is based on CMF-A platform, which focus on affordability. Renault Kayou is expected to be priced within the INR 3,00,000 price tag for their base model.

Here are the expected technical specifications of Renault Kayou:

• Engine: 800cc three cylinder petrol
• Horsepower: 50
• Gearbox: 5-speed manual

Renault Kayou will compete against the likes of Maruti Alto and Hyundai's Eon. This will be the French manufacturer's first attempt in the highly aggressive small car segment.
