Porsche Celebrates 10 Million Facebook Fans With A Drive

Porsche, the German carmaker is celebrating 10 million facebook fans by running a 1,000 km road trip around England and Wales in a 918 Spyder.

What makes it so special one may think. On each stage of the journey, Porsche will invite Porsche owners and enthusiasts to sign the hypercar as a memento of its historic trip.

The 918 Spyder will be start its journey from central London and be driven through Oxford and then to Wales before finishing at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone.

Porsche has selected this route to demonstrate the cars E-Hybrid technology's power and efficiency. A Cayenne S E-Hybrid and a Panamera S E-Hybrid will join the Spyder on the road trip.

Looking at the power the 918 Spyder develops, it makes 887 bhp with the help of 4.5-litre V8 petrol engine paired with two electric motors, that help the car to accelerate to 100 km/h from a standstill in just 2.5 seconds, and attain a top speed of 320 km/h.

The car was built as a limited edition vehicle, in just 918 examples and Porsche has managed to sell every single one.
