Pioneer Launches Android Auto-Compatible Receivers
Pioneer has launched a new line-up of car receivers called Network Entertainment eXperience (NEX), which is compatible with Google's new software.
Android users can now can download Android Auto on Google Play.
The NEX was previewed last year during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The NEX receiver will work with all smartphones that use Android's 5.0 (Lollipop) operating system.
After downloading a few Android Auto-specific applications, the user will be able to control most of their smartphone function using a microphone that is built into the receiver.
Pioneer's aim is to make driving a lot more safer by reducing the amount of distractions a driver faces while in the car.
The built in Google Map will give live traffic information, navigation and alternate route suggestions as well.
The price ranges from USD 700 to USD 1,400 for the top of the line model.
