Nissan India Exports Their 5,00,000th 'Made In India' Vehicle
Japanese automobile manufacturer, Nissan has a few products on offer in India. They are also the second largest exporter of passenger vehicle from India to international markets.
Nissan's Micra is their most highly exported vehicle from India. They have now achieved a milestone by exporting their 5,00,000th vehicle from their Chennai facility.
Over 106 countries receive vehicles from Nissan that are made in India. Their automobiles are manufactured at a facility situated in Oragadam near Chennai. It is used to provide four-wheeler for both domestic and export needs.
Guillaume Sicard, President, Nissan India Operations expressed, "India is a key strategic market for Nissan. We have major manufacturing and R&D operations which support us to be one of India's biggest exporters of cars."
He further added, " Datsun Go which is developed and manufactured in India, is a good example of ‘Made in India' and ‘Made by India'."
Nissan currently offers Micra, Micra Active, Sunny, Terrano and Evalia in Indian market. They also have their Datsun offerings, which include Go and Go+ with a new compact car model expected next year.
