Carlos Ghosn: LG Is The Best Battery Maker For Cars

Carlos Ghosn, the Chief Executive Officer of Nissan claims that LG is the best battery maker for cars. He quoted, "For the moment, we consider that the best battery maker is LG" to Wall Street Journal.

Nissan may follow Renault to purchase batteries for its future electric cars rather than building its own batteries. The company could use LG Chem batteries.

He also said, "We have opened to competition our battery business in order to make sure we have the best batteries. For the moment, we consider that the best battery maker is LG."

Reuters had earlier reported in September that Ghosn was preparing to cut battery production by Nissan's AESC joint venture with NEC Corp and instead use LG packs.
