Nico Rosberg Wins Monaco GP For A Third Time In A Row
Lewis Hamilton sat on pole position for the 2015 Formula One Monaco GP. The British driver made a clean getaway and had a decent lead over his teammate, who was running in second place.
He drove a brilliant race and was clear from his competition with a sizeable lead. During lap 64 an incident occurred that needed safety car to be on track. Mercedes decided to have Hamilton would benefit from a quick pitstop, however, it did not go as expected.
Lewis Hamilton came out with fresher tyres and was surprised to see himself behind a Scuderia Ferrari. Nico Rosberg took the lead in closing stage of the Grand Prix and maintained his lead upfront.
Sebastian Vettel made good use of the tight track and did not allow Hamilton to make an overtaking manoeuvre on him. The British driver had better tyres, however, due to nature of Monaco track it proved impossible to conquer second place.
McLaren-Honda secured their first championship points with an eighth place finish. Jenson Button secured eighth place, while teammate Fernando Alonso suffered from a gearbox issue and had to retire.
The Spaniard was also awarded a five second stop/go penalty due to collision with Nico Hulkenberg. Alonso was sure to finish with points in ninth place before his car failed on him.
Next race to be contested will be in Canada on seventh of June, 2015. Drivers will surely enjoy this track due to the long straights and high speed corners on offer.
