All-New Audi Q7 Launched In Malaysia; India Launch Just Around The Corner
Audi has launched the latest all-new Q7 in Malaysia for RM 589,900 (Rs. 91.06 lakh). From sculpted edges to the trademark Audi Singleframe grille, LED headlights, and signature daytime running lights, the all-new Q7 is a refined interpretation of Audi's Q design language.
Characteristic design cues such as a muscular and sculpted shoulder line, wrap-around tailgate, and pronounced wheel arches are retained to establish lineage with the first-generation Q7 SUV.
Regarding dimensions, the new Q7 measures 5.05 metres long, 1.97 metres wide and 1.74 metres tall. Audi confirms the Q7 has the largest interior space within its segment. Compared to the predecessor, the new Q7 weighs up to 325 kilogrammes less. Audi managed to achieve the weight reduction by using lightweight construction and the strategic deployment of aluminium components.
The new Q7 is powered by a 3.0 TFSI V6 petrol engine mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission. The engine produces 333bhp and 440 Nm of torque and is equipped with combined direct and manifold injection, which is said to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
The permanent all-wheel drive Quattro system enables the Q7 to accelerate from 0 - 100km/h in just 6.3 seconds, whereas the predecessor managed to clock 0 - 100km/h in 7.9 seconds. Top speed, however, is electronically governed at 250km/h.
Concerning mileage, Audi claims a consumption cycle of 7.9 litres/100km (12.65km/l), as well as a CO2 emissions rating of 183 g/km. As a standard feature, Audi offers adaptive air suspension. Other interesting features include an Allroad mode that lifts the ride height by 25 mm while driving on mixed terrain and a Lift/Offroad mode that raises the ride height to the maximum of 60 mm while taking on the beaten track.
The new Q7 is offered in ten colour choices: Glacier White, Carrara White, Carat Beige, Floret Silver, Ink Blue, Graphite Grey, Argus Brown, Night Black, Orca Black and a special Daytona Grey with pearl effect.
Regarding India and the launch, the all-new Q7 is expected to launch next month (December 2015).
