Monza Grand Prix Could Be Dropped From Formula One Calendar
The Monza circuit in Italy could miss Formula One, as it could be dropped from the calendar. This famous Italian race track may fail to host future races due to financial difficulties.
Commenting about Monza's future, Bernie Ecclestone, Formula One supremo said there is a good chance that Monza could be dropped from the Formula One calendar.
Ecclestone commented, "I don't know about Monza at the moment. I have meetings there in September so we will see. I hope we don't lose it but I think there is a good chance we will."
The Monza circuit has been hosting the Italian Grand Prix from the time Formula One races started back in 1950, every year, apart from 1980.
In addition to Formula One, the Monza circuit also hosts the Italian Motorcycle Grand Prix, 1000 km Monza, World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), SBK and Race of Two Worlds.
