Mitsubishi New Pajero Sport Likely To Launch In India By 2017

Mitsubishi has introduced its latest Pajero Sport model in several international markets. The Japanese automobile maker currently offers only SUVs in Indian market.

Now Mitsubishi new Pajero Sport will come to Indian shores not before 2017. It is most likely to be offered in a Completely Knocked Down state, thus enabling better pricing of this SUV.

Under the hood of Mitsubishi new Pajero Sport is the following:

• Engine: 2.4-litre MIVEC
• Horsepower: 178.45
• Torque: 431Nm
• Gearbox: 8-speed automatic, Super Select 4WD II Select

New Pajero Sport by Mitsubishi will be assembled at Hindustan Motors Chennai facility. The Japanese manufacturer currently does not have a great dealership and service facility across the country.

Competition will heat up in Indian SUV space as Toyota will be introducing new Fortuner, Ford will offer its new Endeavour and Chevrolet will launch their all-new Trailblazer model.

Mitsubishi will surely be at a disadvantage as all of its competitors in India will have extensive dealer and service network. It is unclear yet if the Japanese manufacturer would be introducing models in other segments to boost their sales.
