Meru Launches Eve Cabs For Women By Women
The Indian organised cab and fleet taxi service is growing in India. Due to some unfortunate incident and improper background check a few women had to go through a terrible ordeal. This has given cab and fleet services a bad name from which, they will have to improve from.
Meru is by far the most popular cab service in several major cities of India. As a positive step forward they have launched a new service. They have named it as Meru Eve cabs which, will be available only to women and will also be driven by women.
This service is currently available only in Delhi and Meru has recruited 20 female drivers on the job. These female drivers had to attend self defence training, which was conducted by Delhi Police. This training was given to them so they can protect themselves as well as the occupants incase of any danger.
The Meru Eve cabs get a special paint to symbolise they are different. They have opted for a bright pink and white combination for their hatchbacks. These vehicles will have a panic button and pepper spray as well incase there is any harm to the female occupants.
Women drivers will have a uniform that consists of a pink vest. These vehicles have been fitted video cameras for evidence purpose. The drivers will also have a 3G enabled mobile with numbers saved as speed dials incase of an emergency.
There will be no special fare for the Meru Eve cab service. The procedure is the same customers can call the call centre or book a cab through the mobile app service. These services are currently only for Delhi and maybe added in other cities as well.
