Mercedes-Benz CLA Compact Sedan Now Manufactured In India
Mercedes-Benz is set to redefine the luxury vehicle segment in Indian market. They have a wide range of products in the country a few of them are imported to India, while many are locally assembled and even manufactured.
The CLA compact sedan by German luxury car maker is now manufactured locally at their Chakan, Pune facility. Both petrol and diesel options will be locally produced by Mercedes-Benz India.
This is their seventh product that is being locally manufactured at Mercedes-Benz India facility. CLA-Class is a popular choice among young Indian buyers and local production will attract more buyers.
India is among the few countries that manufacture Mercedes-Benz vehicles outside Germany. Currently Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand. Brazil too will commence assembly of vehicles by 2016.
Piyush Arora, Executive Director, Operations, Mercedes-Benz India, expressed, "The start of local production of the CLA simultaneously in petrol and diesel variants is a key decision that will help curtail the long wait list for the sedan."
Eberhard Kern, M.D & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, "We are extremely satisfied with our CLA strategy, which has contributed majorly to our New Generation Cars growth and redefined the segment completely."
