McLaren Will Not Build Porsche Cayman Rival

British carmaker McLaren Automotive has revealed that it isn't considering building a rival for the Porsche Cayman as it does not want to pursue volume sales.

According to Autocar UK, McLaren's chief designer, Robert Melville stated that the British marque considers a rival to German carmaker Porsche's Cayman as "a step too far " as it wishes to preserve its exclusivity. He went on to state that the 570S and 540C were "as low" as the company wanted to go.
