Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid Range Extender Could Launch By 2015-End
Maruti Suzuki is one of the leading automobile manufacturers in India. They offer a wide range of products that cater to a wide variety of customers.
During the recent World Environment Day the Japanese manufacturer promised to lower vehicle emissions and provide cleaner and greener vehicles in the near future.
The Swift is one of their best selling hatchbacks in India and was recently updated. Maruti Suzuki is most likely to introduce a Hybrid Range Extender to their hatchback option.
With the introduction of a hybrid option Maruti Suzuki will come under the FAME Scheme by Indian Government. Under this scheme the Government will be promoting sales of electric and hybrid vehicles by offering subsidies.
Previously Maruti Suzuki was developing the Swift Hybrid Range Extender only for the Government. There is a high possibility that it could be offered to general public as well in India.
Swift with Hybrid Range Extender will be offered in three options - all electric, parallel hybrid and series hybrid. All three models will be applicable for FAME Scheme, however, Maruti Suzuki will explore benefits extensively prior to entering this segment.
