Maruti Suzuki Provides 94 Ertiga MPVs To Mumbai Police
Maruti Suzuki is closely associated with Police squads all over India. Police officials have been using Maruti Suzuki vehicles for long periods, along with vehicles from other manufacturers. The Gypsy from Maruti Suzuki was a popular choice of several Police departments.
Mumbai Police recently took a step into the future by accepting delivery of 94 Ertiga MPVs. Now, Mumbai Police officials can relax and travel in comfort. Maruti Suzuki will cover the Ertiga with an exclusive livery that will signify it is a Mumbai Police vehicle.
Mumbai Police have opted for the Ertiga LXi models for their needs. Under the hood will be a 1.4-litre, K-Series petrol engine. The engine produces 80bhp along with 130Nm of torque and is high on fuel efficiency as well.
Unfortunately, the LXi variant is a base option in Ertiga and does not get the second-row air-conditioner vents. Mumbai Police, however, will receive the facelifted version so that they will get safety features like driver side airbags in the MPV.
Mumbai Police will use the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga for the safety of women. All 94 of the MPVs will be distributed within the city and will have the area name written on the rear bumper. On the roof will be siren with lights to alert people of the vehicle's whereabouts.
Previously, Mumbai Police has used various vehicles for different purposes such as Mahindra Armada, Bolero, and Toyota Qualis. The Ertiga will surely be appreciated by most Police officials as it offers better comfort and convenience.
