Mahindra Could Acquire Pininfarina SpA By April-End
Pininfarina SpA is one of the most iconic vehicle designers of all time. They have built supercars for Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Honda and many other automobile manufacturers.
Mahindra & Mahindra was previously reported that they had shown interest in the designing firm. Now negotiations have almost been finalised and the deal could be struck as early as April, 2015 end.
The Italian car designing firm has debts, which have to be settled. Pininfarina has been designing vehicles for other popular manufacturers, however, they have not been able to achieve profit over the years.
There are other companies who are also interested in acquiring Pininfarina SpA. It is most likely that Mahindra could strike a deal as they could provide a strong foothold for the Italian outfit.
Mahindra has previously attempted at acquiring Aston Martin, however, the deal went south at the very last moment. The Indian company has acquired Peugeot and their two-wheeler division.
Pininfarina SpA and Mahindra representatives have not confirmed any details. They would make an announcement soon after the acquisition is completed. There is no news how the Italian and Indian companies would work together.
