By Santosh
Two million Series Land Rover and Defenders have now been manufactured! The iconic vehicle has seen a glorious run during its 67 years of production, and a unique Defender was created to celebrate the occasion.
The Land Rover Defender 2,000,000 will be sold at an auction at Bonhams auction house on 16 December, which will no doubt draw huge interest and big bids.
This unique Defender will be revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month and will have a host of special edition features including an engraved map of Red Wharf Bay (where the original design was penned), with special ‘no. 2,000,000' badges at the rear and the interior console.
The commemorative no. 2,000,000 logos will also be stitched into the leather seats, a bespoke aluminium plaque with the signatures of those specially-invited guests who helped assemble the special Landie, and special license plates bearing the S90 HUE registration to celebrate the first Land Rover will also uniquely mark the special Defender.
Production of the original Land Rover series began way back in 1947, and since then two million units of the Series I, Series II, and Series III Defender have been produced at the Solihull facility.
