Land Rover Discovery Sport To Be Launched In India On 2nd September
Tata owned Jaguar Land Rover will launch the Discovery Sport in India on the 2nd of September this year. Bookings however, have already opened and dealerships are taking orders across the country.
The new Discovery Sport will be powered by a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine that will produces 140 PS and 180 PS of power in its foreign iterations (we don't know as yet whether both will be available here), and mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Customers can chose between a two-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive option. The SUV can reach 100 km/h from a stand still in 10.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport will be equipped with a host of standard safety features such as ABS, Electronic Traction Control, Dynamic Stability Control and EBD.
The company claims fuel efficiency of 12.83 kpl and it will compete against the BMW X3, Volvo XC60 and Audi Q5.
