Land Rover Discovery Sport Bags 400 Bookings In India: Report

The recently launched Land Rover Discovery Sport has received 400 booking in India already since its launch. The waiting period for the newly launched SUV has gone up to four months now.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport was launched in India recently, priced approximately at Rs. 54 lakh, on-road (Delhi). The carmaker offers seven variants of the Discovery Sport in India.

Powering the Land Rover Discovery Sport is a 2.2-litre, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 148bhp (same as the Tata Safari Storme?) and 400Nm of peak torque. Power is delivered to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic gearbox, the same as the one on the Evoque.

Other features of the Discovery Sport are six airbags, dual-stage airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Torque-On-Demand four-wheel-drive system, Hill Descent Control, and a foldable third-row seat, that offer more storage.

On the design front, the Discovery Sport borrows styling cues from the Range Rover Evoque, and sports a lighter platform, based on Land Rover's new design philosophy. Also, the Land Rover Discovery Sport is offered with a choice of either 7 or 5 seat configuration.
