Jenson Button Contemplated Retiring From F1 Post 2015 Season
Jenson Button drove for McLaren Honda during the 2015 Formula One Championship. He was teamed up with Fernando Alonso who left Scuderia Ferrari for an all-new team. Both drivers took a huge gamble with Honda, who was making a return to Formula One.
Button now confirms that he had contemplated retiring from Formula One post the 2015 Championship. The British driver was not sure on participating in the 2015 season itself, however, due to contract obligations was forced to compete.
The British driver also suggested that 2015 Formula One season made him question if he did not want to race anymore. McLaren Honda's power struggle has also disappointed Jenson Button. The fans and supporters too were unhappy with the team's performance.
Jenson Button has confirmed his participation in the 2016 Championship. He has suggested that if there is no improvement by the team, he will be highly disappointed. Both Button and Alonso just want to enjoy driving a competitive car.
Ron Dennis, McLaren Team Principal has been in constant contact with both drivers. Button and Alonso have been speaking with the engineers, aerodynamicists and technology experts to make the vehicle competitive. Next season promises to be better and both drivers are ready to take on a challenge with McLaren Honda.
