Jaguar Land Rover To Set Up Facility In North America
Jaguar Land Rover is currently part of Tata Motors, it was during Ratan Tata's leadership that this deal was struck. Now the British-based manufacturer is planning on setting up a new facility in North America.
Jaguar Land Rover currently has four manufacturing facilities in United Kingdom. They have also set up new facilities in China and Brazil and plan on growing their presence further. They have also contemplated on introducing a facility in Saudi Arabia to cater to its clientele in that region. It has so far not been confirmed, nor has it been cancelled.
Tata Motors had strategically purchased shares in Jaguar Land Rover. Since the takeover, both manufacturers have been driving profits from their offerings. The vehicles have been selling in higher volumes than ever before and they have been periodically introducing new vehicles as well.
Ratan Tata was present was present at the recent South Carolina Automotive Summit. It is here that he revealed that Jaguar Land Rover will be setting up a new facility in North America. He could not confirm as to where this new plant will be set up but word is that it will be confirmed soon.
Jaguar Land Rover currently has an assembly unit in Pune, Maharashtra, India. They assemble the XF and XJ Jaguar models, along with Land Rover's Freelander for India. The UK-based manufacturer offers its entire range in India, however, the others are offered as Completely Built Units(CBUs).
