Jaguar Land Rover Could Enter Formula E Championship
Jaguar Land Rover could most likely be part of the Formula E Championship. An official announcement regarding Jaguar Land Rover's participation is expected in the following week. Participation in Formula E is prestigious and beneficial for every manufacturer developing an electric model.
Alejandro Agag, CEO, Formula E confirmed that two manufacturers could enter the third season of clean and zero-emission racing. Unfortunately, no manufacturer names or other details were revealed. Jaguar Land Rover is keen to get into racing, which will help developing its future products.
Current rules of Formula E, state that only ten teams can be included in a Championship. For Jaguar Land Rover to enter, they will have to replace a team or take control of an existing team. Trulli Formula E Team is most likely to not continue in Formula E from next season, paving a path for Jaguar Land Rover.
So far, Trulli Formula E Team has not been able to compete in 2015-2016 Formula E Championship. At the Beijing GP, vehicle parts were stuck in customs and in Malaysia, the team failed a pre-race test, which prevented them from racing.
Jaguar Land Rover promises the launch of an all-new electric vehicle. Previously, Jaguar developed the C-X75 supercar in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering. The C-X75 is an electric hybrid supercar and is a glimpse into Jaguar's future. Formula E will provide decent promotion for the new fully electric vehicle as well.
