Hyundai Sante Fe Convertible—The Next Popemobile
The Hyundai Santa Fe will serve as the next Popemobile. After previously using the Kia Soul, the new Santa Fe will be Pope Francis' new ride.
The new Popemobile is not just another Santa Fe, but a convertible one, which the public will not have an option to buy.
The Santa Fe will be open, without a protective clear glass barrier, which was installed previously after the attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II, who was later shot.
Powering the new Popemobile will be a 2.2-litre, CRDi, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 194 bhp and 421 Nm of peak torque.
Although that is a lot of power for what the vehicle will really be used for, a bit of power in reserve is always better than nothing.
