Japanese automobile giant, Honda is expected to launch its premium hatchback in India. Now the manufacturer seems to have delayed the launch once again and has pushed it further behind to June, 2015. Various factors have this time delayed the launch and one of the main reasons is the production capacity.

In an attempt to make their 2015 Jazz more appealing to customers, Honda has opted to take the local assembly route. The Japanese manufacturer is currently exporting its premium hatchback to South Africa from India itself. Honda Jazz is expected to be among the first launches in India by the manufacturer for 2015.

Honda Jazz will offer a petrol and diesel engine in India:

  • A petrol powered 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine will be under the hood. It will be tuned to produce 87 bhp and 110 Nm of peak torque.
  • The diesel powered 1.5-litre i-DTEC mill will be the preferred choice amongst most. This engine will generate 99 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque output.

Honda Jazz petrol models will be offered with a 5-speed manual or an optional automatic CVT. The diesel hatchback will get only a 6-speed manual transmission.

2015 Honda Jazz will get a host of safety features as well:

  • ABS
  • EBD
  • Vehicle Stability Control.
  • Dual airbags for front passengers
  • Side and curtain airbags

The interior of Jazz will be spruced up for a more premium feel. Honda Jazz India-spec hatchback gets a new steering wheel with audio controls. It also gets a touchscreen infotainment with USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Those who have been waiting for the Jazz will have to extend their wait till June, 2015.
