Honda India Gets New CEO And Other Key Management Changes
Honda Cars India Ltd. has appointed a new CEO and has changed several key members in their management team as well. The newly appointed individuals will take charge from 1st of April, 2015.
The new CEO and President of HCIL will be Katsushi Inoue. They have also appointed a new Sr. Vice President and Director, marketing & Sales, HCIL, Hiroyuki Shimizu.
Previous CEO and President of HCIL was Hironori Kanayama, who was in charge since April, 2012. He will be officially retiring and will be moving back to Japan.
Hironori Kanayama was the pioneer who introduced diesel power units in India. He has also introduced vehicles in new segments for India, which were not utilised previously.
It was during his tenure the popular Amaze, Mobilio and fourth generation City sedan were launched in india. He also commenced operation at their Tapukara facility in Rajasthan, which improved their production to 2,40,000 automobiles per year from two facilities.
The Japanese manufacturer has also appointed Hiroyuki Shimizu as their new Sr. Vice President and Director, Marketing and Sales. They have also made several other changes in their management positions.
Honda India will introduce a few new products in India. They will be launching its premium hatchback called the Jazz. The Japanese manufacturer is also looking at introducing a compact sedan for India, which could most likely be their HR-V.
