Honda Eyeing Jazz To Boost Sales In India
Honda, the Japanese carmaker has big hopes on the newly launched Jazz hatchback to boost the company's sales in India and register a double digit growth.
The Jazz was launched recently and Honda has been launching the car state by state as well. The company recently launched the Honda Jazz in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
During the launch, Jnaneswar Sen, the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Honda said, "During the first quarter of this fiscal, we have registered a growth of 9% and are hopeful that the launch of the new Jazz will help us attain a double digit growth in 2015-16."
Sen pointed out that the new Jazz has been developed at Honda's R&D Centre in Tochigi, Japan and the car was designed based on results obtained from extensive market surveys across the world, including India.
The new Honda Jazz is priced between INR 5,40,900 to INR 7,98,500 for petrol variants, while the diesel models cost between INR 6,62,900 to INR 8,75,500. Prices are ex-showroom, Hyderabad.
The new Jazz will be manufactured in India, at the company's Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, that has had a recent investment of INR 380 crore. The plant is currently being expanded to manufacture 3 lakh cars per year.
