Ford GT Price Announced; To Be More Exclusive Than Before
Ford has announced the price of its latest supercar, the Ford GT. The car will be priced around USD 400,000, which means that it is in the same range as the Lamborghini Aventador.
Another important fact about the Ford GT is that the car will go on production in 2016 and only limited units will be manufactured per year. It will be restricted to just 250 units per year.
Ford first unveiled the two-seater sports car during the Detroit Auto Show. The production model car's carbon fibre body will almost be hand-built by a coach builder based in Canada.
The previous Ford GT was retailed for USD 150,000 and was discontinued in 2005. The value of those cars skyrocketed after that. The previous generation GT had only 4,000 examples built.
The latest GT however, has been priced much higher and comes with a mid-mounted twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 EcoBoost engine that motorsport derived, instead of the supercharged V8 engine that was used in the previous generation Ford GT.
Although exact figures are not out yet, the Ford GT should have performance figures close to the Aventador since it's priced the same as one.
