2016 Ford GT Race Car Unveiled; Preparing For Le Mans

American carmaker Ford has officially unveiled its latest Ford GT, which will take part in the LM GTE Pro class at Le Mans.

The car was unveiled at the famous circuit in Le Mans and is scheduled to run the full race season of FIA World Endurance Championship as well as TUDOR United SportsCar Championship in 2016.

The race debut of the car will be in January 2016 at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Joining Ford in the races will be Multimatic Motorsports, Roush Yates Engines, Castrol, Michelin, Forza Motorsport, Sparco, Brembo and CGRFS.

The new Ford GT will be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine, but power delivery figures are unknown at the moment.

This latest form of the Ford GT has improved aerodynamics, greater down force and is light, thanks to carbon fibre.
