Ford 2015 Endeavour Engine Specs Revealed Prior To India Launch
American automobile giant, Ford currently offers a few of its products in India. They plan to introduce three new products to its existing range of vehicles. At the 2014 Auto Expo, the manufacturer showcased its upcoming vehicles.
Currently Ford offers Figo, Classic, Fiesta, EcoSport and Endeavour. The American manufacturer, however, will be introducing an all new Endeavour for 2015. They also plan to introduce two versions of their next-gen Figo, it will be a compact sedan and an all new hatchback.
Manufacturers like to keep certain aspects of their vehicles secret. Ford has, however, provided information of its engine and other details. They plan to introduce the 2015 Endeavour in India by the end of the calendar year. The Figo twins are expected to arrive in India by mid-2015.
2015 Ford Endeavour will sport two diesel engines and a single petrol option:
- A 2.0-litre petrol powered Twin-Scroll EcoBoost engine will produce 234 bhp, along with 360 Nm of peak torque
- A 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel mill will generate 147 bhp, along with 385 Nm of peak torque output
- A five cylinder, 3.2-litre Duratorq diesel mill will churn out 197 bhp, along with 470 Nm of peak torque
These engines will come with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, an optional automatic transmission will also be offered.
Ford will also provide optional All Wheel Drive option or the standard front wheel drive system.
In India, however, Ford will not offer its 2015 Endeavour with petrol engine, only the diesel mills will be provided. The American manufacturer will provide options between manual or automatic transmission and AWD or front wheel drive system. Once launched it will compete against Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Ssangyong Rexton and Toyota Fortuner.
