Eicher Polaris Multix Personal Utility Vehicle Launched In India

Eicher Polaris has launched India's very first personal utility vehicle. The manufacturer has christened this model as the ‘Multix'. It will be available in two variants and four colour options.

Here is the pricing of Multix by Eicher Polaris:

• Multix open cab has been priced at a starting price of INR 2,32,850 ex-showroom, Jaipur.
• Multix with cabin has been priced at a starting price of INR 2,72,000 ex-showroom, Jaipur.

Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director & CEO, Eicher Motors, expressed, "We have identified a large untapped segment in Independent Businessmen with an estimated population of 5.8 crores in India, and are committed to create a new and strongly differentiated automotive solution for them through Multix."

He further added, "Our aim is to equip the consumers with the Multix ecosystem and enable them to unlock their potential by accessing a world of new opportunities. We have made an investment of INR 350 crore till date."

Eicher Polaris has provided the Multix with the following engine specifications:

• Engine: 511 cc single cylinder diesel mill
• Horsepower: 9.78
• Torque: 27.1 Nm
• Gearbox: 4-speed manual transmission

It also gets an X-Port generator that produces three KW of electricity from the onboard diesel mill. This is a unique feature of Multix and can work as a generator for a small house or business.

Multix will be available of testing from July, 2015 and deliveries of this personal utility vehicle begins from August, 2015. Either Polaris will offer this product in 30 outlets spread across India.
