Delhi Outlines Framework For Odd-Even Number Plan To Curb Pollution

The Delhi government has outlined the framework for its odd-even number plate plan to curb pollution in the capital city, which is currentl the world's most polluted city.

The plan calls for odd-numbered vehicles to run on the streets of Delhi on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while cars with plates ending in even numbers will be allowed to run on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Delhi Home Minister Satyendra Jain said the government will only allow emergency vehicles like PCR vans, fire tenders and ambulances on the roads of the national capital on all days of the week. Jain went on to state that the odd-even formula would also apply to all ministers and bureaucrats in Delhi.
