Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV To Be Launched In India By 2015-End
Chevrolet currently sells a wide range of products in the Indian market. The manufacturer is having a tough time selling vehicles in India. Their plan is to introduce vehicles that will attract buyers to their products with an all-new SUV in India by 2015-end.
Chevrolet India has brought its SUV to India for R&D purposes. They would like to locally assemble their Trailblazer to achieve competitive pricing, thus making it a lucrative buy.
Internationally the Trailblazer is powered by a huge 2.8-litre diesel mill. It is mated to a 6-speed auto transmission, however, in India they will provide an optional 5-speed manual transmission as well. The diesel mill has been tuned to generate 200 horsepower, along with 500 Nm of peak torque.
Chevrolet provides its SUV with several key safety features as well, which include:
- ABS with EBD.
- Electronic Stability Program.
- Hill Start Assist.
- Panic Brake Assist.
- Cornering Brake Control.
- Hydraulic Brake Fade Assist.
- Hill Descent Control.
- Traction Control.
- Driver and Passenger airbags.
- Child Restraint Provision.
- Electrical Theft Deterrent.
- Immobilisation Security System.
The Trailblazer will have to fight against tough competitors in Indian market. Chevrolet's all-new SUV will have to take on the likes of Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Pajero. Pricing will be critical with the Trailblazer, which could make it or break it as a hot seller.
