BMW X6 To Launch On The 23rd Of July
German luxury carmaker BMW is set to launch the X6 in India on the 23rd of July. This will be the flagship SUVs second generation, and will be offered here as a CBU.
The new X6 has shed some weight. It will weigh approximately 40 kgs lighter than the previous model. The weight distribution too, will be spread evenly, with a good 50:50 between the front and rear.
The model that is to be launched is the BMW X6 xDrive40d variant with the following engine specifications:
- 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel engine
- 313 horsepower
- 630 Nm of peak torque
Transferring power to all four wheels will be through a 8-speed automatic transmission.
Along with the X6, BMW could also bring in the X6M model to India. This performance oriented SUV will be powered by a 4.4-litre, V8 TwinPower Turbo engine.
This model, if launched in India, will compete with the Mercedes GL63 AMG and the Range Rover Sport.
