BMW currently offers the 1-Series hatchback in India but will be replacing it with the new model for 2015. The German manufacturer has revealed its new 1-Series which will be officially unveiled at 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

The German manufacturer plans of introducing their hatchback in India by late 2015 or early 2016. BMW has given their 1-Series subtle exterior as well as interior upgrades. For international markets it will get all new engines, along with the EfficientDynamics technology package.

The most visible changes to the exterior are the slimmer headlamps. BMW designers have focussed on making the front end as aggressive as possible and have redesigned the nose of the 1-Series. A redesigned bumper gives the impression of the hatchback having a more aerodynamic package.

The rear section in new 1-Series gets minimal change, however, it looks better now. BMW designers have introduced more sleek looking taillights, which is in a two-piece form. The rear bumper has been also redesigned for a sportier stance.

German engineers will also be providing new power houses:

  • BMW 118i gets a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder engine, which will produce 136 horsepower.
  • BMW 120i also gets a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder engine, which will generate 170 horsepower.
  • BMW 125i will sport a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine, which is capable of producing 218 horsepower.
  • BMW 116d features a 1.5-litre diesel three-cylinder engine and will generate 116 horsepower.
