Production Spec BMW M4 GTS Unveiled; To Debut In Tokyo This Year
The production spec BMW M4 GTS has been unveiled and will make its public debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Based on the BMW M4, the GTS is a more powerful version.
Looking at the heart of the car, the engine, it is powered by a water injected, 3.0-litre, six-cylinder twin turbocharged engine, like the MotoGP safety car. This water injection technology has helped the engine deliver more power—500 PS to be exact.
Also, the engine produces 600 Nm of torque, that helps the car accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds flat, and reach a top speed of 305 km/h, which is electronically restricted.
The BMW M4 GTS has managed to lap the famous Nurburgring in 7.28 minutes.
Apart from the engine, the car features three-way M coil-over suspension system, that enhances the handling of the car and standard carbon ceramic brakes keep all the power under control. The seven speed dual clutch transmission has also been tweaked.
Carbon fibre seats, bonnet, roof, front splitter and rear wing help keeping the weight of the car low. Reducing weight further are light weight doors, centre console and rear seats. The titanium mufflers alone account to 20 percent of weight reduction. The car weighs 1510 kg.
