BMW i Line To Spawn i5 SUV - Report

The next car in BMW's i series will be a SUV bearing the i5 badge.

British auto magazine Autoexpress has information from BMW insiders that caims that the BMW top brass are favoring a SUV design for the upcoming car. One of the reasons behind the move towards the SUV were the increased SUV sales in the high priority Chinese market.

The new SUV is expected to feature extensive use of lightweight carbon fibre. The powerplant is wxpwcted to be a full electric unit with an expected range of over 200 miles (322 kilometers).
