Aston Martin To Build New Manufacturing Plant; Eyes UK, US, & Middle East
British luxury carmaker Aston Martin is looking to build a new manufacturing facility and according to Reuters, the company has shortlisted the United Kingdom, United States, and the Middle East. The locations Aston Martin has in mind are 2 in Britain, 1 in Alabama, US, and 1 in the Middle East.
The board is currently reviewing the options and will make a decision by the end of this year or by the first week of January 2016. One of the possible locations in the UK will be an 80 acre site in Sutton Coldfield, which will generate about 1,000 jobs in the locality.
The decision will be based on a lot of factors, including if the company will get any financial support or not from the government. Aston Martin has been struggling to make profits lately, and also announced that the company will be laying off almost 300 employees earlier this year.
