Ashok Leyland Appoints Aston Martin CEO As Independent Director

Ashok Leyland has appointed Dr. Andy Palmer, the CEO of Aston Martin, as an Independent Additional Director.

Palmer was a Corporate Vice-President taking care of the Light Commercial Vehicles at Nissan when the Japanese carmaker formed a joint venture with Ashok Leyland. The joint venture saw the two companies team up to manufacture and assemble engines for technology development as well as commercial purposes.

Chennai based truckmaker Ashok Leyland's decision to appoint Dr. Palmer is subject to approval of its shareholders at a general meeting.
