Ariel Nomad Unveiled Prior To Official Launch By Mid 2015
Automobile manufacturer from the United Kingdom Ariel has produced interesting vehicles of late. The company was founded recently by Simon Saunders in 2001. They have established their company at Crewkerne, Somerset, United Kingdom.
Ariel has now produced a new vehicle that joins their line-up. The company has christened their new vehicle as the ‘Nomad'. It is based on their existing model the Atom, which is a single seater track focussed machine.
The Nomad is Ariel's off-road offering based on the Atom model. It is made more like a buggy and less of a tarmac hugging speedster. The British manufacturer has incorporated several design and structural changes to their off-road machine.
The off-road vehicle gets an engine sourced from Japanese manufacturer Honda. It is an inline four cylinder petrol 2.4-litre engine, which is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. It produces 235 bhp, along with 300 Nm of peak torque.
Ariel has also provided its Nomad with TIG welded wishbones in the front as well as rear. Dampers for the vehicle are provided by Bilstein, while the coil spring are got from Eibach. The manufacturer also offers adjustable twin master cylinders that can control brake bias. Braking force is achieved by ventilated disc brake and non-ventilated discs for both front and rear respectively.
Ariel's Nomad will not be on sale before mid 2015. It is expected to be launched with a price tag of INR 26,28,053. It is unclear if the British manufacturer would offer this off-road machine in India, even as a special model.
