AM General To Build Mercedes R-Class In America

By Rajkamal

AM General, the company which originally designed and built the Hummer, now has the task of building the Mercedes R-Class in America.

The Mercedes will be built in AM General's 675,000 square-foot Commercial Assembly Plant in Mishawaka, which is no more producing the Hummer.

Mercedes has moved the R-Class production here because the production line in the Mercedes plant was needed to manufacture a different model.

The Company has produced more than 1.5 million vehicles, supported by its employees at major facilities in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, and a strong supplier base that stretches across 43 states.
