Advanced Vehicle Fitness Centre To Open In Lucknow Soon
Advanced vehicle fitness centre in Lucknow will open soon. This will be the first of its kind in the state and construction is under full swing. The new advanced vehicle fitness centre will be ready by March 2016.
This new centre, spread across an area of 7,500 square feet for testing the fitness and roadworthiness of vehicles is under construction with an estimated budget of Rs. 3 crores, and is being jointly developed by the centre and state governments.
The advance vehicle fitness centre in Lucknow will test the vehicle's brakes, emission and engine performance. Commercial vehicles will also be tested here since they need to obtain fitness certificate every year, and since that is currently done manually, the new fitness centre will also cut time, making it faster and more efficient.
Currently, unfit vehicles are one of the major reason for road accidents, air pollution, and noise pollution. The Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Lucknow seizes almost 400 vehicle every month due to the fact that they are unfit for public roads.
So, with the new advanced vehicle fitness centre, Lucknow will be among the first 10 cities in India to get a modern and efficient way to test fitness of vehicles.
