Video: India-Bound Toyota Fortuner Shows Its Skills
The 2016 Toyota Fortuner is expected to make its debut in India next year. However, the new SUV from Toyota is already on sale in Thailand and Australia and a new video has hit the interweb showing the Fortuner flexing its muscles both on and off the road.
The 2016 Fortuner is based on a new ladder-frame platform. Size wise, the new Fortuner is 90mm longer than the model it replaces at 4795mm. It is also wider by 15mm at 1855mm. However, the new model is 15mm shorter than its predecessor at 1835mm. The wheelbase of the 2016 Fortuner is 2750mm.
The Fortuner will be offered with two diesel engines - one a 2.4-litre and the other 2.8-litre. The 2.4-liter unit pushes out 149bhp and 400Nm of torque while the larger 2.8-litre powerplant chugs out 174.5bhp and 450Nm of torque. Both engines can be paired with either an automatic gearbox or a 6-speed manual gearbox.
