XC90 By Volvo Coming In August 2014
The Swedish car maker Volvo has launched the new XC90 in UK and we hear that the vehicle is India-bound. Volvo had launched the first generation premium luxury SUV way back in 2002. It was a segment leader in safety, space and was versatile too.
Volvo have decided to keep the new vehicle a secret, deciding to reveal only certain parts of the new XC90 prior to its launch in August, 2014. Today, the Swedish manufacturer has revealed to us the exquisite interiors of the new XC90.
The interior of the Volvo XC90 is premium and luxurious and has been inspired from its Swedish origins. Sweden is known to merge latest technology with clean design, and Volvo has made use of the best materials with everything crafted to the last minute detail.
Thomas Ingenlath, Senior Vice President Design of Volvo Cars explains, "The most striking feature is a tablet-like touch screen control console, which forms the heart of an all-new in-car control system." Volvo claims the system is state of the art and has no buttons, it will be an all new system to control aspects of the vehicle. You can also access the internet and avail of their products and services.
Volvo has tried really hard to make their XC90 as premium as they could. Thus, it will feature soft leather with handcrafted wood. They will also be replacing the traditional gear knob for a crystal glass by Orrefors. The volume controls and engine start/stop button will have a diamond cut to it and is sure to keep buyers in admiration of the interior.
The XC90 is based on a new platform known as SPA, which stands for Scalable Product Architecture. The premium luxury SUV will be more spacious and will sport the latest technology developed for cars. The SUV can accommodate seven full grown adults with ease - it will have three rows of seats with the third row even getting its own air-con vents.
Alain Visser, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service of Volvo Cars said, "The customer and the customer experience are at the heart of everything we do at Volvo Cars. We don't do technology for technology's sake - everything in a Volvo is there to make our cars safer and more pleasurable to drive."
