Volkswagen Working On A 10-Speed DSG
Volkswagen has confirmed they are working in a 10-speed dual-clutch auto gearbox. The German company will be introducing this engine in its future line of cars, in an attempt to lower emissions and increase efficiency of their engines.
Volkswagen expects their 10-speed DSG to be ready and fitted to their vehicles by 2020. The German manufacturer expects the engine to be 15% more efficient than their current breed of vehicles. They are currently using a 6-speed transmission in their vehicles.

VW explains their new engine can be used for both longitudinal as well as transverse applications. Volkswagen's future 10-speed dual-clutch auto transmission will be utilised in their power packed models for better efficiency as well as performance. It will be used for cars that will produce torque in the range of 500 Nm or more.
The German's have not confirmed when the engine would be produced or revealed significant details. Their main focus for the future is to make their engines more efficient as the CO2 emission standard is being lowered constantly and they have to find a way to cope with the norms. Volkswagen's new 10-speed DSG is expected to lower the CO2 emission up to 95 gm/kg.

Volkswagen have also confirmed their other project is an all new 4-cylinder 2.0 litre diesel engine, which is expected to produce 236 bhp from a twin turbocharger. The engine is set to debut at the end of 2014, in their Passat 8th gen vehicle.
