Volkswagen Golf R 400 Concept Revealed
Volkswagen has revealed sketches of their new Golf R 400 concept vehicle. The German auto manufacturer will showcase this new concept at the Beijing Motor Show, which is to be held on 21st to 29th of April, 2014.
The Golf R 400 will be based on Volkswagen's Golf R hatchback model. However, the 400 will be a 'hyper' version packed with an upgraded 395 horsepower.
Volkswagen will provide an all-wheel-drive system to the Golf R 400. It will achieve a top speed of 280km/h and will do 0 to 100km/h in as less as 3.9 seconds.

The German car manufacturer plans to use the same engine in the Golf R car. It sports a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. The Golf R 400 will get a special electro-mechanical Haldex multi-plate clutch along with special tuning. They also plan to introduce a DSG gearbox.
Volkswagen will be adding flared wheel arches, a body and bumper kit, uprated wheels and new interiors. The wheel arches have been intentionally been added to make it look like the 1988 Rallye Golf G60.

The Golf R 400 will get a special 'Silver Flake' metallic paint job, while the roof will get a contrasting black roof. They will also use carbon fibre components at the door mirror caps.
Volkswagen explain this car is at the concept stage currently and they have no intentions as yet to put it into production.
