Volkswagen Golf GTE Hybrid Revealed

The front of Golf GTE looks similar to previous GTI and GTD, petrol and diesel respectively. It has identical air vents in the front grille however, the C-shaped LED is new and differentiates the two.

From the rear nothing much has changed, identical tail lights have been used. The double barrel exhaust adds a sporty touch to the Hybrid car.

The Golf GTE looks similar to current range of Golf. It will feature same strong and tough build quality.

The interiors of Golf GTE looks clean and fuss free. Black dashboard with retro check seat fabrics add a laid back feel inside the car. To entertain a 6.5-inch touchscreen system will be provided as standard. It will include ‘energy flow monitor', along with that a power meter instead of a rev counter.

The battery in Golf GTE can be fully charged in 3.5 hours, using a normal house plug point. Petrol tank has been shifted to the boot, as the charging point is below rear seats. However now the boot is 100 litres smaller than normal Golf's.

A special 'e-mode' button is situated within the cabin, to enable zero-emission while driving. This switches the engine off totally and restricts top speed to 82 mph.There will also be a GTE drive mode, which releases max power to make the journey sporty and exciting.

The GTE is expected to launch later within this year, bookings however commence in August. Volkswagen plans to price it for 30,000 pounds.
