Traction Avant By Citroen Celebrates 80 Years
Citroen launched their Traction Avant way back in April, 1934. The French car manufacturer will be planning a series of events to mark their iconic car's 80th birthday.
The Traction Avant was packed with groundbreaking technology for its time, and was the first front wheel drive car.
Citroen's Traction Avant was a revolutionary car. It featured an all-steel monocoque body, and was a light and aerodynamic.

Traction Avant had a low centre of gravity, a feature that wasn't seen on any other car in its era. Thanks to front-wheel-drive, it had superior handling and road holding.
2014 marks the 80th birthday of the Citroen Traction Avant; Citroen will be organising a series of special events to honor the their revolutionary model.
They will begin with a Paris based Retromobile show in February, which will feature two Traction Avant 11 Familiale models, dated 1937 and 1957. They will be exhibited by the La Traction Universelle club, that has over 1,400 members worldwide.

Later, they will display a unique Traction Avant at My Citroen Adventure exhibition at the C_42 showcase on the Champs-Elysees in Paris.
The 1955 Traction Avant Sans Frontieres 11BL belongs to the Traction Sans Frontieres association, which travels the world taking part in vintage vehicle rallies and events.
