Toyota March 2014 Sales Report
Toyota Kirloskar in India has reported the worse sales in the month of March than most manufacturers. The Japanese automobile giant has recorded a downslide in its sale of vehicles. Adding to their woes is the unrest of their workers union who are on strike.
Toyota Kirloskar reported a decline of 57% in its total sales. The Japanese automobile manufacturer has a great portfolio of vehicles; however, it hasn't increased their sales numbers.

The Japanese automobile giant had sold 21,143 vehicles last year in March. In March 2014 they struggled with sales and their numbers dwindled down to 9,160 vehicles.
The drop in sales is accounted due to Toyota workers going on strike. The strike begun from mid-march and workers were asked to sign a contract of good conduct, which they have refused to do. They will begin work soon, the first few days of April were missed out as they were holidays.

Toyota managed to continue production of its vehicles, thanks to the help from its staff that is not affiliated to the workers union. Though most of them supervisors, which wasn't of great help.
The worker's union of Toyota have confirmed they will resume work; however, they will not sign an undertaking of good conduct.
Toyota has a few new cars coming to India like the Etios Cross and a new Corolla Altis. It will be great to see if these new products revive the Japanese manufacturers sales numbers.
