Toyota India Sales Increase By 6 Percent
Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently launched their two new vehicles the Etios Cross and the Corolla Altis. The Japanese manufacturer has reported that it has achieved a six percent increase in sales. The automobile giant has recorded sales of 13,230 vehicles in the month of May, 2014.
Toyota had achieved selling 12,502 vehicles from their entire range in the same month in 2013. The 6% increase in sales is compared to last years sales report.
N Raja, Senior Vice President (Sales and Marketing), told our source, "We have resumed normalcy in production and have registered growth in May. We launched Etios Cross and the All New Corolla Altis, last month."
He further added, "We have received a very good response for the new launches and would like to thank customers for their appreciation. We started dispatching new models in May. We registered sales of 555 units and 548 units of Etios Cross and Corolla Altis, respectively."
Toyota India has sold 11,833 vehicles in the domestic market in the Month of May, 2014. It is a significant bump up of 18 percent compared to May, 2013. In which Toyota managed to sell only 10,023 vehicles. They also exported 1,397 Etios vehicles in the same month from India.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has recently launched their 11th generation of the Corolla Altis. So, far the Japanese manufacturer has sold over 88,500 Altis since 2002 in India. Their 2014 model will be offered in petrol which, will cost INR 11,99,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The diesel variant of the new Corolla Altis will be priced at INR 13,07,324 (ex-showroom Delhi).
