Tata Zest Launching On 12th August

Tata Motors India had revealed its two new products, earlier this year at the 2014 Auto Expo, which was held at Delhi. They Indian manufacturer has decided to launch its compact sedan christened as the ‘Zest', on the 12th of August, 2014.

The Zest will compete with Maruti Suzuki's Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent. The new compact sedan is a growing segment in India and there is great potential. Tata Motors has introduced its new design philosophy with its Zest and Bolt vehicles.

The Zest will be available with both petrol and diesel engines. Tata Motors have developed a revolutionary petrol 1.2-litre petrol engine. It will produce 88.7 horsepower, along with peak torque output of 140 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Tata Motors will be providing its Zest with a 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel mill. The engine generates 200 Nm of peak torque along with 88.7 horsepower. It will be paired to an optional F-Tronic AMT or a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Zest compact sedan boasts of 390 litres of boot space. The drive is smoothened out with the use of dual path, independent McPherson strut with anti roll bar suspension in the front. While the rear suspension is a semi-independent twist beam. Braking force comes from disc brakes up ahead with drum brakes in the rear.

Tata will provide its Zest with advanced ABS along with EBD and Corner Stability Control. It also gets dual SRS airbags, speed sensing auto door locks and ultrasonic rear parking sensors. The Indian manufacturer will provide projector headlights with led parking lights. It will also sport LED Daytime Running Lights.

The Zest will be launched on the 12th of August, 2014 by Tata Motors. The manufacturer has began accepting online bookings for its compact sedan. The Zest can be booked at a price of INR 21,000 at TATAZESTONLINEBOOKING. We expect the compact sedan to be priced aggressively roughly at INR 4,50,000 ex-showroom for its base variant.
